  • I'm Baaaaaack...

Hey everyone - it's me, twinsmom. I have pretty much fallen off the face of the earth for the past 1 1/2 years as far as the boards go, but I'm back! When I last left you, we had just moved to MN, just had baby #3, and were settling into residency life. Here is our readers digest version of the past few years....

** DH is now half way through residency (with still fellowship to go after - I swear if they make medicine get any more specialized, they will have these docs training for 'pinky fingernail specialist'!).

** Kids are growing like crazy and I made the overly zealious mistake of putting them in WAY too many activities this year (hence, the absense from the boards) - they started violin, ballet/tap(for DD), swimming, and preschool (for the older ones). Yes, we were out of control - I get that!

** Along with teaching aerobics at the gym here, I also got put on as their nutrition spokesperson - which has been tons of fun, but has also added to our chaotic schedule! (Don't quite brand me out-of-control crazy, there's still more!!). Before you think I'm a nutrition nut, however, you must know that in all my seminars I abide by a strict policy of "do what I say, NOT what I do!" I have been known to show up at the kids care in the gym, all of us having cookies in our hands as breakfast (Hey, they've got eggs in them!!).

** We are now expecting baby #4. Yes, that's right, baby #4 will be joining our circus, er, family, in July (unless I can talk hubby into swiping some pitocin ahead of time!). (Okay, you can now brand me out-of-control crazy!).

Well, that's life in our household in a not-so-nutshell. It's good to be back on the boards!! It's been way too long!!

So, how are you all doing in your various stages of life/training/post training?

    Jen

Welcome back! and well, the insanity seems to be part and parcel of the Dawkter's spouse lifestyle...

I like to think of us as exceptional managers which is why we all excel with the craziness of kids, moving, residencies, etc.!

We're posting training now and settling into our first year out. It's been a rollercoaster of a year. We moved from Chicago to upstate NY and then I had DD2 2 weeks after moving. :thud: The first six months are kind of a blur between with the new baby and new job stress. We're in a good place now and just waiting for winter to end.

Where in Upstate NY did you move to? Just curious as I have been an "upstater" my whole life--until 4 years ago when I became a Western NYer. In 3 months, I will become a Mid-westerner (Wisconsin then Minnesota). I also am due the week after we are moving to Wisconsin, and I am hoping he will come late. Congrats to you!!

She is in fact coming to Mayo after a transitional year in LaCrosse - the Rochester contingent keeps growing.
