    How is everything going???

  • #2
Thanks Claudia for checking up on me. It has been only what .... over a month since I last got on this site! YIKES! The time has gone so fast and there just hasn't been enough time in the day to get everything done.

The latest here is .... med school graduation is this weekend so all the family is coming in and we are looking forward to that. Of course, my poor hubby can't even relax for graduation because he has to speak at both the banquet the night before and at the graduation. He wishes he missed a few more test questions!

My kids are in their last week of school too so we are going crazy keeping up with them and all their activities. I am looking forward to things calming down.

We were in San Antonio last week and we found a house after EXTENSIVE searching, made an offer and it was accepted we found out while we had a lay over in Houston! It was a whirlwind trip but everything in Texas seems to be falling into place. I wish the same could be said for here. We haven't been able to sell our house yet. I am hoping and PRAYING that it will sell in the next couple of weeks. We need to close at the end of June if possible. At least that's when we are to close on the house in San Antonio. Whew... it definitely is not boring here.

I think the hard part has been having to keep my house absolutely spotless 24/7 in case someone wants to see it. On top of working almost full-time and keeping up with 4 boys ... it's my excuse for not being on the board for such a long time.

In fact, my kids are still outside playing and it is almost 9 pm and they have school tomorrow! I just had a few minutes to check the site. It sounds like everyone is doing pretty well from what I could catch. Hope everything is going well for you Claudia. Aren't you coming up on a year as the medical spouse? Time flies!

Talk to y'all (I am practicing!) later!

      Robin---

I'm praying for the sale of your house soon! I know that the thought of two mortgage payments has to be weighing on your mind. Here's hoping you get a fab offer soon.

Hopefully, the whirlwind of activity is keeping you too busy to worry. You guys are going to do just fine. I know that you have to be extremely proud of Russ. What an honor for him to speak at both events! Heck, I don't even know him, and I'm kind of proud!

Thanks for the quick update and drop in when you can to keep us posted. Best of luck with everything. But you guys don't need it, you are going to do just fine.

Thanks Kelly for the mood booster! We are hoping for the best and yes, praying A LOT! I think it will work out but it is the not knowing that is driving me crazy!

My parents come in tomorrow so I am more excited than stressed at this moment. I haven't seen my mom in almost 2 years and my dad in over a year. I can't wait to see them and for them to see my kids. Dallin was 9 months old the last time my mom saw him. I think they will have a good time.

Jenn - our house is in the northwestern part of San Antonio close to the 1604 and Braun Rd. (Halfway between Six Flags and Sea World! It is directly west of UTHSC. We are excited about the house and the area. We feel like we know our way around that part of town with all the house shopping!! Right now ... everything in Texas is going great. Definitely the main concern is selling the house here in Phoenix. Buying the home in Texas is not contingent on us selling this one BUT ... two house payments ... UGH!!!! I will let you know if I need anything. Thanks for the offer.

Kelly, I am proud of my hubby too but now (being the worrier that I am) I am stressed about his speeches this weekend. We can't even relax and enjoy graduation because he has to speak. Oh well... I am looking forward to the banquet the night before. I actually bought a new dress, the first one in many years so ... I am ready to go!!!

I have missed reading all the happenings going on here. I hope to have more time soon so that I can catch up.

          Talk to you later!

Robin, when we were thinking that we might be in San Antonio for residency we were also looking at the northwest area that you found your house in. That place is SOOOOO cheap!! My aunt and uncle just bought a newly built four bedroom house (never been lived in) in that exact area for around $125,000 (evil opposite of Boston). Can't beat those prices! I'm glad you found a place!

Thanks for the well wishes. My parents and 90-year old grandmother got here this afternoon. It is GREAT having them here. My kids are so excited I don't know what to do with them except send them out to my parents motorhome!!!

Now that Russ has one of his speeches written, I am not near as nervous. I think I can enjoy the weekend now. Whew! I am more relaxed and he is now more stressed. He will probably win the award for being The Most Stressed at the awards banquet!!!

Jennifer - I know what you mean about the housing in San Antonio. The prices are great. The property taxes are the pits but ... we were able to get a home for the same price that we are selling our current home for. Our house now is 16 years old and is 1463 sq ft. Our new home will be almost 2100 sq. ft and is only a year old. We really needed a bigger house with 4 boys so I am glad we are going to San Antonio.

                Have a great weekend!

We did it. We got through graduation and all the family being here. It really was a nice weekend. Russ did AWESOME on his speeches. He was so relieved when he was done and could just enjoy the moment. We had a nice visit with family. It was quite the household! My parents and grandmother came. Russ' parents and his brother, sister-in-law and four kids came too. It was a lot fun. We had 17 people in our house for meals, which was quite an experience! The last of the family left Wednesday and now we are trying to get back into a normal routine. It is hard because Russ is now on vacation along with the kids but I have to work like crazy to try to save money for the move.

We are looking at moving around the 23rd of June. Russ has to be there on the 27th. We STILL haven't sold our house here and we are a little anxious about that. We are having an open house this weekend (I think it is our 4th one!) and keeping our fingers crossed. Our realtor left town for the next two weeks and we have a "substitute." Maybe he will have better luck.

Well, that's about it for here. Sorry that I haven't been posting more. It will be a bit before I am checking in regularly. Thanks for the support.

yeah..Congratulations to both of you for surviving graduation weekend...I'm sure you all are going nuts trying to get everything ready for the big move...We are all sending you positive vibes especially about the house....I hope that the open house goes well and that this other realtor is able to sell it...what a serious stressor..what will you do if it doesn't sell? Are you going to rent when you move?

                      Kris

PS Don't answer this until you've moved
