    to steal Kelly's idea:

"It's the end of the world as we know it."

So, on top of the Va Tech thing, I'm looking at the CNN site- 1) Poachers are killing off the rare Asiatic tigers, 2) people are being murdered- well- everywhere 3) pollution is permanently damaging the world's oceans, etc., etc., etc.,

and to seal the deal I just pulled a chart to do an audit and our client was murdered. Judging from the article in the medical record, I'd guess she was prostituting. 25 years old. Shot in the abdomen and the shooter then killed himself.

UGH. What a damned depressing day.

ETA: I'm so going to the gym for a VERY long run today.

Honestly, days like today make me very afraid for my child. What the hell kind of world did I bring him into?

Is it bad that my kids love that song?

Anyway ... I know how you all feel. I wonder the same kind of stuff regularly. 9/11 happened when Jacob was about 5 months old, and I'll never forget the sinking feeling wondering about the kind of world he would grow up in.
