a pharmaceutical company paid for ice time for the residents to play hockey. My dh hasn't played hockey in over two years--since he started residency. (The irony in this is that we move to the State of Hockey.)

It was awesome to see all these overworked residents finding such joy in an activity. Of course, my dh can barely walk today, but it was worth it. They all had such a good time that they are going to try to start a team of residents to play in a league next year. I just wonder if they will ever be able to fully man a team with all of their busy schedules. Does anyone elses spouse do anything team sports with other residents? It is a GREAT idea!

That's great, Kelly!! Very refreshing to hear that your hubby was able to get out and have some FUN! I'm still working on getting us to simply exercise. . .sports will come later!

We had a softball team last year but the coach was such a jerk that no one wanted to do it after he left. The team was called "The BabyDocs". The Army guys have their PT obligations anyway, so they all work out all the time- there's a wee bit of competition between them.

Did you read about the new pharm regs? These things are going to be a thing of the past....:/ No more sports tickets, etc...only drug lunches, etc...where meds are discussed...
