  • Earth Day & Nellie's bee situation/ Something to think a

I have seen this in articles, and Bill Mahr qouted it, yet again on Real Time Fri. night.

Albert Einstein quote: “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”

Snopes has a thread on this on their messageboard. Nobody can find this quote. It has been attributed to Einstein repeatedly - but it doesn't seem to actually come from him. Urban legend it appears.

There are other pollinators (and possibly some would step up to fill gaps left by less bees) out there - so the quote is untrue in that manner (which, if the quote was by Einstein it's incorrectness could be attributed to the fact that he was not an entymologst - or even a biologist for that matter).

But, "bee" that as it may (yes, I'm feeling cheesy here today eating my macaroni and cheese ) it would be a major change if we continue to lose so many bees. And, a good reason to more closely examine cell phone use (the most likely cause of the dessimation of the bee populations todate).
