This seems to imply "just like it looks": http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.php?name=ashling

This has a little more info and seems to imply the same thing: http://medievalscotland.org/problem/names/aislinn.shtml

Ashling sunds like you see it. Ash-ling. sometimes its spelt Aisling which is more common in Ireland but sounds the same. Its a lovely name, I think it means a dream.

One of my good friends here is named Aisling, she tells me it means "a beautiful vision". Its a gorgeous name, on my list of potential baby names!

yes, Ashling is just the anglicised version of Aisling, both pronounced exactly the same.
