  • Oh yeah, got the bed to myself...

Not that I don't love my husband dearly- but I truly appreciate call night for uninterrupted sleep. Ahhhhh. I swear, the man sleeps in the middle of the bed, on his back with his hands behind his head. Must be some wierd Army thing, I think. Ready to get up and be at war? Who knows, but factor in Rascal on my feet (perpendicular to my body of course), Darla on my head and Trouble between us, plus Petey snoring in his kennel. Is it any wonder why having my own bedroom is such a fantasy? He sleeps through all of the animal movements anyway- he can have them and his own bed.

So, I'm off to the shower and then to sit unaccompanied in the middle of my bed and read the John Le Carre spy book I got from the library. Yes....

    Jenn-

That is hilarious!!! I have this mental image that is unforgettable! The craziest thing is that I'm so envious!!! Our cat only sleeps with me when it's a call night - she refuses to be bothered by two people. Our dog is always on her "place place" that is beside our bed. Don't you LOVE having a ton of animals in your room at night?

That is so funny.....honestly, one of the things that I actually MISS about residency/fellowship is the occasional night to myself. Don't get me wrong...I don't want to go back to a brutal call schedule, but sometimes I fantasize about having the bed to myself for just a night

I'm just reading this post.....hope you got a good night's sleep
