  • Head or Heart?

Kris says that I make decisions with my head. I say that she makes decisions with her heart.

    Which are you?

    Gut. (neither or both)

I just make decisions that seem right- sometimes they're logical and well thought out but others are pure instinct.

      That's so weird. Me too.

I can "THINK" a decision to death -- do weeks of research ....and then there are others where I just DECIDE on a feeling.

I'm MUCH more a "Thinker" now that I have kids -- but I still trust my gut as Jenn says like a best friend. My gut has served me well thus far.

I think both. With my kids, I am definitely more head.

Head, mostly.....but I am often torn between what I know and what I feel. DH doesn't often struggle with that conflict.

Head influenced by heart. Definitely not all one or the other.

I think you have to be passionate about your life and take risks...sometimes that means throwing caution to the wind in a .... calculated way.

My decision to go to Germany as a college student? heart....and head....
My decision to work in the hospital that I did? heart
My decision to go out on a first date with Thomas? Definitely my heart

Dont' get me wrong...I'm pragmatic about many of the things in my life too. My MS is in molecular biology, so I'm not purely about the emotional stuff (heart) :guilty: . I can also be very practical/rational.

              I just...choose...not to be sometimes. :>

I think much of our conversation was in the context of having children. I would have to say that my choices in that regard were purely emotional....wanting a big family, loving being a mom...that kind of a thing....BUT...I also knew my limits and I had already signed the paperwork for the tubal before I was diagnosed with the lymphoma....so we were going to be done.....even though my heart would have probably told me to have 17 kids or something.

Does your heart tell you what you truly want to do and what you're most passionate about?

                  and then,

does your head tell you what you should do?

Because if that's right, I definitely do the head thing but I should do what my heart tells me...

I react first with my heart, always, and I always have. Later, I analyze what I did wrong or could have done differently with my head and adjust.

I tend to make decisions based on my checkbook.

Then on whether the store has a good return policy.

I tend to make decisions with my head but I also make decisions with my heart just not as often.

I wish I could be more head, I often feel too much of a softy. And if I see a big Sale sign, the head goes for a walk.

I am way more head than heart in most things; analytical and pragmatic to a fault, always need more data. As I get older, I'm learning to let go and wing things a little more and go with my gut a little more, but I'm still mostly head.
