There is a scrubs shortage at the hospital. I have no idea why!!

I had, had it. I finally gave up and washed all the scrubs that were sitting in my guest bedroom. 4 full loads, and we all know how thin scrubs are. You can count if your bored. I can't bear to.

When we got married he swore to me that laundry would be his domain. Now he can't even be responsible enough to take his scrubs back to the hospital so they can wash them, and instead, he just keeps taking more pairs.

He is a scrubs clepto, a pen clepto, and a soda clepto. Do your spouses steal anything from the hospital?

I'm washing my bedding now. Does anyone here iron sheets? I figure wrinkly sheets are just going to have to do. I am not ironing them. Please don't mind my wrinkly sheets.

I am sorry for laughing but I have to because I have been there too. I just stuffed the scrubs into trashbags and put the bags in the passenger seat of his car though. Don't bother counting...it will only make you more angry. :therethere:
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

This is a public room so I'm taking the fifth.

Dear gawd, no. Even the author of Home Comforts, anal queen of all things domestic who suggests cleaning your tile grout with a toothbrush and always washing floors on your hands and knees, thinks that ironing sheets should be saved for special occasions like anniversaries. Just the fact that you'd consider it makes you a domestic diva in my book!

That is a lot of scrubs.

Iron sheets? Don't think so! For an anniversary? I think I would be the only one to notice.

Why did I think I was the only one who didn't iron sheets?

Like that would be the next job anyway...

I am dying, laughing!!!!! Us, too!!

Last Halloween, I got so fed up with the stockpiling that I took one of his old pair of scrub pants and made our toddler his trick-or-treating outfit. His surgeon costume ("but Mom, want to be robot!"--tough luck, kid--you're a doctor this year!) actually turned out pretty cute and the sewing was SUPER simple. Except that I used the scrub's drawstring, which was kind of bulky on a teeny weeny waist. But throw on the Fisher Price stethescope and he was good to go...

Exactly the same. I have a pile of scrubs about your size and a pile of coke cans and a pile of pens with various drug names on them. But I do write off the scrubs laundrying from taxes. He also swore that no more scrubs after residency, he'll be changing at the hospital.

And I've never even heard of anyone ironing their sheets. That's taking Stepford to a whole new level.

What a cute idea! I might try that this year!

                  Ironing sheets

I don't even iron clothes, I just throw them in the dryer for a few minutes.

dh has a crap load of scrubs. the hospital washes them...but because he hates digging thru a pile looking for his size i wash them. he has sooo many shirts...because when the pants get nasty he doesnt want me to wash them..so he throws them away. i told him to bring the extra shirts back but he insists to bring more pants.

oh, and i had a great aunt who ironed sheets, wash cloths, towels, linens of all kinds. wth? i have better things to do than iron. besides, dh being the ex ARMY guy is the one who irons in this house...not me. he does a much better job.

Isn't that the truth? I attempted to iron the uniform once when we were dating and was told in no uncertain terms that I didn't need to bother again. (don't have to tell me twice!)

I iron the few item that I have that need it and he does the rest.

I had a boss once whose mother ironed her father's underwear.

Me too. I guarantee you though, there are closet sheet ironers on this board.

Well, I'm not one of them. I only have a tiny table-top ironing board. The last time the IL's were here FIL asked for the iron and I had to look 3 places to find it.

DH had a pile of scrubs, too, but most of his were 'aquired' during medical school. Sometime during intern year UH instituted a "scrub nazi" and you could only have 2 pair of scrubs checked out at a time.

Wow, now that's commitment to marriage. I'm usually too lazy to unfold the ironing board and do it on the corner of the bed, regardless of who's still in it.
