Well, I didn't check any of the above because I don't think our plans fit those descriptions. We really should take a vacation by ourselves but we have ended up going "home" to see our families and friends on our last 2 vacations other than our honeymoon. It's a tough, tough position to be in - because of his schedule, we only have more than one day off at a time during the official three weeks of vacation. If we don't go "home," we would NEVER see some family members like his grandmother, etc. I don't know. . .we're both very close with our families so we don't mind using up our vacation time to go and visit everyone. I do wish that we at least had an occasional weekend off to take a romantic trip. We'll probably take an "only us" trip during our last year here.

Jon and I have never had a true vacation - growing up or in adulthood. The reason? Could never afford one! The idea of people taking a vacation (ie actually taking time off work and going somewhere out of town together for fun) is a foreign mainly because neither of our working-class families growing up could ever afford such a luxury and we certainly haven't had the money to go on vacation during our marriage! Perhaps one day we will have this luxury!
