  • When does school start for your kids?

I am suddenly filled w/ anxiety about sending them off to school next Mon 8/13!
I look @ DS1 & DD1 and am suddenly seeing them as the little kids they are...I have always referred to them as my big kids!

It will take some getting used to...

Jacob has a 1/2 day on 8/15, then starts full days 8/16. He just realized this weekend that he'll be at school more than twice as long as he was last year. He said "What the HECK?"

The Crunchy Tree-hugger school starts 8/22. (A Wednesday. I'm guessing it has something to do with karma)

8/20 here. It's a full two weeks later than their start dates the past several years. I think the legislature mandated a new start time.

You MN folks need as much summer as you can get to help make up for your overly long cold winters!

Wish we started later, because it is still so blasted hot for the next couple of months!

8/29 here. We've had a long break because they got out 5/25 in Nashville.

8/15 for mine. I start the next day, so I will be able to pick up my new *kindergartener* (sob!) from school at 11:30 when he finishes instead of having him go to daycare his first day.

Luckily dh will have 3 of 5 weeks off, and my MIL will come for a week to help me out.

8/22 here as well. I think the Wednesday start is supposed to ease them in to it. You know, three days of getting organized and then a weekend break before "real" classes start. Or, they could just be getting in the days required by the district. We have so many weird holidays and teacher workdays they probably need those three to make up the time.

                              8/20 the parents start school
                              8/27 the kids start

Too bad it couldn't be a little more coordinated.
