  • STL: med school research analyst & staff physician baby

Odds are no one actually knows this family. My dad called to tell me the story in case we knew them, which we don't. I'm passing this on so if any by chance new them could give there condolences.

eta: thanks, I looked again and found a better article.

Btw don't read the comments, it's just the page that came up under the local news website search engine. The comments are bad so skip them.

Happened here at Wash U. We don't know the physician. It is terribly, terribly sad. The article you posted doesn't provide as much in-depth coverage as we got here, due to it being a local interest story. Apparently, the whole thing resulted from a tragic miscommunication between the parents. It was horrific.

We lose several children a year in this state due to being inadvertently left in hot cars. Usually, it involves children being forgotten by daycare workers during field trips or by children locking themselves into the car trunk.

Honestly, I think I might become suicidal. I don't know how I would be able to go on. My heart breaks for them.

It is so sad. I'd like to be able to say "Oh that would never happen to me", but I'm sure those parents said the same thing before. I can't even imagine what they must be feeling right now..
