    Re: Nellie

I heard about it but haven't had a chance to read it.

I'm hoping for more :dinner: in my future. I hear it mentioned my favorite Thai place. Mixed feelings about that -- well deserved but it can't get too crowded.

Here is the link if anyone is interested, covers Portland dining and a bit on wine:

      http://www.nytimes.com/pages/dining/index.html

But why do they keep coming out here? Isn't there enough to cover there?

And did you see the scallops with basil below? I want some of that. That was a separate article.

        Re: Nellie

I saw the scallops with basil. I don't cook much seafood, because the fish counters here stink. If fish is fresh, it doesn't have that fishy smell.

I don't know why they like to go out to your area - the wine? Or maybe they're trying to convince us that it's not so bad out on the last frontier!

Oh....Alison....I just read that Saveur named Chicago as the next "it" city and the person gueses urban-ethnic is the new food trend.

Is there an article about Chicago in Saveur?
I am such a whiner when it comes to food in Chicago. We almost drove to Indianapolis a couple of weekends ago to have dinner.
