We are sort of looking at some of the online subscriptions to songs so that DD (and maybe the rest of us) can download songs onto MP3 players. I was looking for suggestions:

Also, an article I read said that when you stop the subscription, the songs disappear too. How can they disappear off of a MP3 player? Or do they only disappear off of your hard drive? Or are you not allowed to download to a hard drive?

And then, do all the subscription sites work for ipod and MP3, or if you were to get an ipod, do you have to go to iTunes. And do iTunes work with MP3 players, or only with iPods?

itunes is not a subscription you pay for the songs as you download them and you can put them on up to 5 computers (I think). DH and I share things that either of us download. Once the songs are on your hard drive, they don't go anywhere. I can't answer whether or not iTunes songs work on other MP3's.

DH had a gift subscription to eMusic for a few months, he didn't really like it. The music was a lot more of things he'd never heard of but when the subscription was up he still had them on his iPod.
