We got a letter last week from one of the Boston hospitals DF was working in to say that a patient he treated had confirm respiratory TB and DF was to see occupational health here t get checked out. Both of us were born in Dublin were we are vaccinated with BCG against TB before we live the hospital (no so in the rest of the country) and this is still the case today so DS was vaccinated also, DD was born on the wrong day and missed her's in hospital and due to a shortage was meant for her one today but can't have it because DF is reacting to his Mantoux! so he has to have a CXR tomorrow and we may all have to go on prophalactic treatment.
This is the part I hate about medicine and working in a hospital, my own job included, all the nasty's that make their way into our home. I just feel awful that there is a small chance our baby has been exposed.
DF has been home from the states since the end of June! what the H**L took so long in infirming us! It could have been sorted out before she was born when she was protected in my belly!
