  • Driving in the left lane

I would like to know, seriously, why some drivers feel it is ok to drive in the left lane on the interstate. After driving home today from a weekend away, we were behind a line of 10 plus cars multiple times bc someone chose to drive slow in the left lane and not get over.

I am just wondering why people would knowingly ignore common driver's law, etiquette, and those big signs that say 'left lane for passing only'.

I always drive in a constant state of passing someone so I always drive in the left lane :P

Pet peeve for me, too. :soapbox:

I am always in the right lane except for when I actually pass someone. Then, I move back to the right lane. Sometimes, I know it looks like leapfrog....but I can't get the driver's ed rules out of my head. DH is a left laner. It drives me bonkers. I bite my tongue now, but secretly wish someone would pull him over and ticket him. :> I don't think that happens to anyone of course....it's not a ticketable offense. But if I were in charge......

Left-lane drivers annoy me too. :soapbox: I'm fairly certian some states (if not most) by law designate the left lane as the passing lane and the right lane as the cruising lane.

I don't mind drivers who stay in the left lane because they're passing everyone else. But, I've seen drivers who merge on the freeway and make a bee-line to the left lane only to put the cruise control on 55.

I too drive in the left lane if I'm continually passing but I always move over if someone comes up behind me. I agree - thoroughly annoyed at those that don't pay attention.
