  • 5 web sites that could change your life

These were profiled on the Today Show yesterday, thought some of them were interesting.

    Expert Village
With so much information online these days, who can you believe? Visit expertvillage.com to watch how-to videos from people who have been certified as “experts” on topics like how to pass a driving test, how to carve a pumpkin or how to belly dance. All of the experts must have professional experience in fields like Health and Fitness, Parenting or Home and Garden.

    Lemonade Stand
Set up a virtual “lemonade stand” filled with products you’d recommend to friends on lemonade.com. Add the widget to your Facebook, MySpace or blog pages and when purchases are made through the stand you receive 5 to 15 percent of the cost of the item. The stands are a win-win for everyone: Online retailers get free advertisements, social networkers are recommended good products, and you get paid if the deal goes through.

    Ask Sunday
AskSunday.com is working to give people back their free time. Sign up for a monthly subscription and have Sunday’s personal assistants do tasks for you like make your doctor’s appointments, set up dinner reservations, or call you when you need to wake up even if you are on a trip around the world. Sunday has even helped its customers sort through their hectic dating schedules by searching personal ads on craigslist or canceling unwanted dates.

    Fat Secret
It’s no secret that billions of people are trying to lose weight these days. Visit fatsecret.com to connect with others who are trying to shed some pounds and to read up about well-known diets like South Beach, Weight Watchers or Atkins. Readers can keep journals about eating and exercise, swap recipes and make friends with other dieters. See what works for other users and decide what diets you should try. The site is entirely free but paid features may be added in the future.

    Kayak
When you need to plan a vacation, make kayak.com the first place you visit. Search for airfare, hotels, car rentals or special packages. The site is super fast, and you can save your preferences so you don’t have to enter them each time you come back.

Thanks for posting! DH and just missed the segment and were curious about the websites...but clearly too lazy to check the Today Show online. Good stuff.
