On Thursday, Nov. 1st my mom and uncle are going into surgery because my mom will be donating her kidney to her brother. It is a scary, exciting and scary all at the same time. We are so happy that my mom can do this for her brother but it's scary as well.
But she is at the U which is one of the best places for transplants! My dh scrubbed in on another transplant with my mom's surgeon a few months ago!
At this point it's nice to have someone in the family with a medicine background. I have one aunt that is a nurse but that's about it.
My friend who is a IM resident and just got chief at the U will be stopping by as well.
So please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers, we're hoping for a speedy recovery for both!
