(I'm trying to run a poll but I don't know how to do it yet. Bear with me.)

    My vote

I voted yes for right now. We always talk about wanting non-medical friends, but at the end of the day, no one understands what we've been through and are going through like other medical families. We'd like to have non-medical friends though as well....we're working on it.

During medical school, most of our friends were all medical. Now, I would say that we have a good mix. I would be bored to tears being surrounded by all medical people... the conversation always ends up being about work... and well... work is for work... I don't want to hear about it! I like having a diverse group of friends... a group where the conversations can go in all sorts of directions!

Our friends are mostly not in medical school/profession. My bf's roommate/good friend is a med student (at a different school), but that's it. It's mostly because my bf just started school this fall and also because we both had close groups of friends before he started school. I think it'd be great to have a mix, but because I'm not in med school myself it helps to have my friends who share in all sorts of interests.
