Not nearly as brrr as you but super cold for us -- 25 right now with a high of 56. Hope it warms up when the sun comes out!

School closes at what temp. Annie?

Last year, we only closed for two days during three weeks of -30 WITHOUT the windchill. Yes, I live in a nutty place!

Definitely brrrr...we're supposed to have a high of 22 today, but it's an improvement over yesterday when those gusty winds kept us inside. A lot of schools are closed around here, but DD's school district is amongst the last to close and she went off to school this morning.

Hope those snowplows get busy plowing around your neighborhood soon Annie.

We're actually having a "heat wave" this week. Right now it is -5 with the windchill but we're supposed to get up into the 30's for the next few days.

It's definitely chilly for South Texas- there was frost on the golf course we pass on the way to Nikolai's school. (yay- kill the fleas finally!) It was in the low 30s overnight.

But, our leaves are just now turning and falling off. and it'll probably be back in the 80s by the end of February.

It's very cold here, but the fact that the sun is out makes a huge difference.

It's pretty sloppy out there on the roads as well, Heidi. How'd you do with the first real snow of the season?

we were out driving in the worst of it yesterday; it was nice to go to a mall that wasn't crowded less than 2 weeks before xmas, because of the weather.

Connecticut is still cold... I know, shocking. Freakin snow and sleet.... It was really sunny today and some of the ice started to melt. I was able to brave the cold today. I was so glad to get out of the house for a couple of hours!

Angie- if only the folks in TN could see me now! :fans: I have gotten my snow legs (or wheels)! Having 4wd helps much more than I could have imagined. The only trouble spot is dd1's school drop off/pick up. It's a tiny horseshoe on the side of a hill lined with parked cars and now covered in thick ice.

Now I'll go gather my auto insurance info, since I bragged about my new snow driving skills I'm sure to have a fender-bender.

I have purposely avoided venturing out your way, I'm not ready for advanced snow driving yet.

It was chilly here in S. Florida today...down in the 50s this morning... brrrrrrrrrr.

As the days go by, it is less and less likely that we will move back to MI after residency. I am not sure I can go back to the cold and the grey.

                            Enjoy the snow!!!!!!
