Just wondering if any of you have a .... must see ... with the new season of shows starting. I know ... who has time for TV but there are a couple of shows that I like ... Alias and JAG. I had to record JAG last night so my hubby could watch and we still haven't seen it. We never have time to watch, but when we do ... at least I have it on video.

I LOVE "Everybody Loves Raymond". I also watch "ER". Does anyone else watch these doctor shows or plan to watch the new ones coming on this evening? My husband doesn't like them - he says "why should I watch people do things I do all day?" I think it's funny how a lot of people find the medical profession and those involved so fascinating.

      TV

Well, growing up in the DC area, where politics is the town business, I actually really like to watch C-SPAN and the PBS news. I therefore LOVE West Wing and can't wait to watch it tonight. I'll tape it for my husband who has 'caught' the politics fever. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I have a cousin who is always working on one campaign or another and we get the inside scoop. (I went to a party at her former boss' house, a member of the House of Representative and I was able to go with her to watch a floor vote. Very Cool!)

        I confess...

I don't even know what the shows are that have been mentioned besides ER I'm a bit behind the times...I think that the only show that I still catch besides Bob the Builder is 'Trading Spaces' and I'm a little bored with that one. I watch MSNBC news (and sometimes Fox for a good laugh)...but for the most part, we order movies through Netflix.com...and whatever comes in the mail that day is what we end up watching that night 8)

          MD's

I watched the season premier of "MD's" last night and was pretty disappointed. It was pretty laughable actually.

The chief of trauma and chief of thoracic surgery had so much time on their hands they were hanging out on the roof and "saving" patients in the morgue (you just had to see it). I couldn't tell if they were trying for comedy like "Scrubs" or it was just so absurd by lack of good writing and consultation with anyone in the medical profession. All in all a definite 1/2 star. Can't wait for "ER" tonight!

The show 'MDs' was completely panned in the San Antonio Express News. they said they were really disappointed because the cast was so strong.

West Wing was AWESOME though. I want to go home....

I watch Angel...no not Dark Angel...Angel...the Buffy spinoff with David Boreanaz. Love him! The premier isn't until October 6th...but I think it will be good since they left last season with him nailed in a coffin and floating out to sea to drown...

I love medical shows because they are different than vet stuff...animal planet can get boring for me.

I turned on West Wing the other night because of you Jenn. I figured I would check it out. Of course, I only got to see the last 30 minutes and it took the whole time for me to figure out who was who but ... it was thought provoking. Lily Tomlin will be great!

I did catch the season opener of Friends, though I haven't seen it in a couple of years. I had seen previews and thought I would check it out. The previews told the whole story so it wasn't too exciting to watch, IMO.

We watch Friends, ER, and Scrubs.

We watched ER last night, and Matt was disappointed with the graphic nature of the premiere. We both thought it went a bit far. His comment was "I work everyday in surgery as an anesthesiologist, I don't need to come home and see things just as if not more graphic than what I see at work. Seeing someone's arm get cut off was not the last image I wanted to see at the end of my day."

We thought Scrubs was hilarious though.

Someone made the comment about MDs- I agree 100%. It was as though they were trying too hard to be like Scrubs.

It was a very graphic episode of ER, wasn't it? I thought it was really well done, though. I am quite impressed with the way that this season appears to be going. . .so far! I think I was so freaked out with the arm incident because it was totally unexpected. I would never have guessed that would happen in a million years. VERY strange!

Scrubs was OK. I don't know. . .for some reason I just can't get into that show. It's too far out sometimes.

MDs was *awful* in my humble opinion. Way to make surgeons look like scoundrels!

                      Robin-

I'm glad you tried West Wing. I just love it. Now that you've figured out who everyone is, try it again!
