We saw it. Someone called me a crazy Californian for calling her about it.
gee -- I don't know who THAT could have been. :P It's only b/c my cousin (in California) had also JUST called me to make sure I had the boys outside to see it. I had to explain that I was putting them to bed and it was 7 degrees, so no, I wasn't taking them outside. She gave me a "well, you're the mom" and got off the phone. No sooner did I hang up than Davita called me to make sure I was watching it.

It was so beautiful! I loved this kind of stuff as a child. I love comets, space garbage, shooting stars. Bring it all on. LOVE THE STUFF!
I saw the end, when just the top of the moon was "missing". But the pictures of when the moon was red look amazing, but as Suz said we had clounds so I missed that bit.
My mom called and said "Your father insists that I tell you that the lunar eclipse is almost at its peak right now." You could tell she didn't think she should call and he did. :P My husband went out first and then was like "It is cool--get the camera." So we have several blurry pictures.

“That was the thing about the world: it wasn't that things were harder than you thought they were going to be, it was that they were hard in ways that you didn't expect.”
― Lev Grossman, The Magician King
The skies were clear here so DH and I were able to catch the eclipse. It was beautiful! I just wish we had a telescope so we could get a better look at Saturn.

So that was Saturn, eh? I *thought* it was a planet, because it wasn't flickering.
I wanted to go outside and do a time lapse photo, but it was too cold. (Another reason to move somewhere mild!).
