Anyone plan to watch the Academy Awards? I don't think I have seen even one of the movies but I still plan to watch. I don't remember ever not watching them.

I'll be watching. I was pretty proud to realize that I've seen 3 of the Best Pic nominees. (Juno, Atonement, and Michael Clayton).

I probably won't watch them...but I will watch the shows the next day where they talk about how gaudy some of these stars look

I usually flip over to them, but don't watch them straight thru. I haven't seen *any* of the movies.

I thought Jon Stewart did really well. The Oscar producers though ... TOO MANY FREAKING MONTAGES! Geez!

I agree. Instead of cutting people's speeches short, lose the joke-montages (the binocular one, for instance).

              Re: Oscars

I have less of a problem w/the short, jokey montages than I do w/showing every a clip for all 79 previous Best Pictures, or clips of most of the previous Best Actors or Actresses. I like the "In Memorium", and I enjoyed the first montage, where they showed some touching / heartwarming acceptances over the years. But beyond that ... c'mon!

I didn't make it all the way through and called it a night at 11. Need to catch up on all the winner I missed. I liked Jon Stewart too.
