I'm a native Southern Californian who just moved from Los Angeles, to Honolulu, Hawaii, to Anchorage, Alaska within 6 months. Drastic climate change, but well worth it! Alaska is beautiful, and I'm so glad we made the decision to come here. It's so surreal to see a group of moose walking through the cross walk of a city street! Don't let the weather stop you from discovering the wonders of cold weather living. Snow boots, wool socks, a good winter jacket with a hood and a remote-ignition car with electric warming seats, and you're good to go! Just be careful on icy roads - skidding into oncoming traffic is not fun...

Arizona to Wisconsin...I have nothing to add that wouldn't involve language that would make a sailor blush. Four more months until we are out of this hell on earth. Dante had it right. The inner circles of hell are definitely frozen.

I don't think I could handle it. SAD affects both me and DH so we could never do it. Screw having the 4 seasons. I NEED sunshine and warmth. The bugs and humidity I could say good-bye to in a heartbeat though.
