  • Where can I find a cheap flight?

I need some places to check for flights other than the normal expedia, etc. Got any suggestions? I need to fly to Florida.

My suggestion is to download Southwest's Ding! thing, and check it every day. I can get flights from Ohio to the west coast for about $200 round trip relatively regularly, this way, and they're flexible; it's actually two one-way tickets; doesn't cost any more to just go one-way or to open-jaw (those same flights are at least $50-100 more just going to their site). You have to jump on them and buy the tickets usually that same day to get those prices.

I just looked at today's deals again. Cleveland to Tampa bay, $59 each way. Those prices are good for travel in May and June, mostly, looks like, and they're good for another half hour, right now (I first got the notice this morning).

http://www.kayak.com - great deals, will even provide a pricing grid for you based on dates, if you're flexible.

if you happen to be near one of their cities (fort wayne, IN or southbend, IN are the two cities in Indiana)...you can get a cheap flight to orlando or ft lauderdale or st pete.

we can usually get direct flights to FL for around $79 each way.

I've been MIA, but wanted to chime in here...

register your flight on http://www.yapta.com and it will monitor your flight price. If it goes down in price, they will send you an email notification at which point you will call your airline company and get a refund or credit for the price difference. Pretty neat. The only downside is that you have to buy tickets directly from the airline.

Re: Where can I find a cheap flight?

Thanks. I downloaded that ding!, but for some reason my computer kept having errors. I needed to fly over Easter weekend, not a good time to find cheap flights. I won't be going. I was trying to visit my grandmother, dad, and brother to help spread my grandfather's ashes in the Atlantic since I missed his funeral. They picked a crappy weekend. I am the only one who has to fly and who has kids. I just can't go. Thanks anyway.
