The Aquarium- an absolute must!!! The zoo is a good choice too. I would recommend buying the Aquarium tickets in advance as it gets really crowded. The light show at Stone Mountain is cute in a kitschy way. Fernbank museum is also fun for kids.

For you, there is a Trader Joe's in midtown, just off Piedmont Park. There is also an amazing international food market that is enormous- you can get six kinds of rocky mountain oysters there! It is called Your Dekalb Farmer's Market. There is a Pottery Barn outlet about 45 minutes north of Atlanta, along with a million other outlets. I am not really an outlet shopper but the Pottery Barn outlet kicks butt.

I agree, the Aquarium is great! If you get there at opening time, you will be able to see a lot more. As the day goes on the crowds get huge and the little kids have to struggle to get close to the exhibits. They have a 4D theater that is worth the extra admission.

My brother goes to the Dekalb Farmer's Market every time he goes to Atlanta. It sounds fantastic.

We took the kids to the Altanta Childrens Museum (back in '03). We had a great time. It was our first Children's Museum experience, and the dudes were little (2 1/2 and 1).
