Unless you're allergic to concrete, I don't hear of all that many allergy-sufferers in Chicago. Dh, who is allergic to everything in Germany is a happy camper in Chicago (allergy-wise).

I'm surprised that you didn't have allergies in Seattle.

We're having all sorts of stuff float through the air. Thank goodness for zyrtec. I always forget how sleepy and tired allergies make me feel until I take something for them.

        Re: Allergy season

I have horrible allergies in the spring/summer in the PNW. Here...no problems yet, despite some of the same allergens floating around. Guess they're just different enough that my body doesn't think they're evil invaders. Yet. With any luck, I'll not develop allergies to the local strains while I live here.

I used to use beconase, back when they had aerosol nasal inhalers of it. I still use nasal steroid inhalers when I need to, but I dislike the liquid ones, and to my knowledge there aren't any aerosol ones on the market yet (they were taken off years ago when the EPA decided NO CFC propellants were allowed in ANYTHING, and nobody's developed one with a non-CFC propellant yet, that I know of).

The rain in the PNW helps keep the pollen down, I think. I have worse allergies now for my hometown than ever- after going away I guess it triggers more... And my allergies here get worse every year. Maybe I'll have to move to Chi-town.

Sneezing and wheezing here too. And my eyes itch like crazy!!!
I had the shots when we lived in the PNW because I was so bad, they worked for a couple of years but then we moved away to another ecosystem! Wonder if I will still be immune if we ever move back?

              Re: Allergy season

When we moved about an hour from where we used to live, my allergies kicked up a notch. I am fine at work, but if I have the windows open at home or am outside, I have the itchy watery eyes and sneezes... Blech!

Mine are starting to improve....I guess that's the difference in the growing zone/time of season.
