The Delaware/MD beaches are all 'right there" and then you can take the Ferry from Lewes to Cape May, NJ. From Ocean City, MD to Rehobeth it's maybe 45 minutes.

    Rehobeth has FABULOUS restaurants.

What about Williamsburg, VA? It has a little town set in the colonial times, complete with actors dressing and acting the part of colonial people. I remember the food being good. I don't know about shopping, though. I'm not much of a shopper. Dh and I really enjoyed our visit there about five years ago.

Williamsburg, VA is about a 6 hour drive from Hershey, PA. You probably could fly to an airport nearby, but I'm not sure what airport would be the closest.

No, no, no, I'm all for the Cedar point excursion complete with airbrush t-shirts and temporary tatoos. I want photos.

DH and I went to Cape May for our first wedding anniversary and it was GREAT. I'd highly recommend it. We had some awesome food, and the beach is fantastic. Don't know about the shopping, and if I remember correctly ... all the restaurants were BYOLiquor (that might have changed, though ... this was 7 years ago).
