Its definitely one of those "where were you when" moments. I think its a great step for our country and I think McCain was very patriotic in his concession speech.

I admired John McCain's speech and it really reminded me of the 2000 McCain. It came across very heartfelt and sincere.

I am overcome with pride for our country now and I am truly excited for what the future holds.

Now I'm off to go have a celebratory drink!

re: McCain I thought I saw a glimmer of the 2000 guy in there. Very nice speech.

However, speaking as someone who was never fully on the Obama train, I was floored by his acceptance speech. That was the most inspiring, thoughtful, well delivered speech I have seen since I don't even know when.

I thought at first that after 8 years of stupid, maybe I'm more easily impressed. However I think that the 8 years of stupid made me so cynical and skeptical that I'm actually harder to impress than before.

I actually finally feel good about my vote.

All of my Mexican relatives started calling about an hour ago quite upset and "depressed" (their words used). I heard dh in the kitchen trying to calm someone down.

I'll wait and see. If he's a good president then that will be great and I'll be thrilled. But, I can't determine that until he's actually been in the office for awhile.

Here's to hoping he ends up better than I think he will be. And, here's to hoping that sinking feeling in my stomach will turn out to be for nought.
