They seem to really like him in PA for some reason: he's got two already lined up.
Thank you to those who have been keeping him (and us) in your thoughts -- I'll keep you posted!

    YAY for those invites!

We need all the positive thoughts we can get! DH has several interviews, but I am hoping we can get a few more close to home.

      Re: Match Interviews

Update: GA sent an interview (Nov 26th) but had to ask for waitlist, due to being on call on Thanksgiving! (He wouldn't have made it back in time...)

But it's okay -- #1 on waitlist in Augusta, and #1 on waitlist at UCI.
He's feeling a bit more confident.

Good luck to your DH - may you stay in Texas

Augusta rescheduled him for Jan 9th -- interview #3.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about scramble, but I'll ask SO Dr. and maybe he can give some helpful insights.

Is anyone as frustrated as I am with this interview thing? My hubs has asked me to check his email about 5 times a day because if he gets an email invite and doesn't respond immediately he could get waitlisted. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! Either you want to interview someone or you don't. This whole thing is screwy...............

It is frustrating but especially in competitive specialties, there are way more applicants than there are spot. They don't need you as much as you need them. At Utah for ortho, they get well over 500 applicants, and they only interview 50 for I am pretty sure only 5 spots. Here they interview about 75 for 4 spots. Good luck, it will be all be over before you know it.

It is frustrating the only thing that kept me a little positive through it was knowing everyone is going through the same thing in your specialty. Here, in neurosurgery, they interview 45 not counting the visiting med students they interview for 3 spots. It is what it is and we've all been there or will go through it. Hang in there!
