  • The latest CA wildfires

We are a long way from the fires, but this is what the sky looked like at about 3:30pm. It was like dusk already. Now, at 5pm the sun has dropped behind the hill and the whole sky is red. The smell of smoke is strong even here.My clothes smell from being outside taking a photo.

It is strange because early this morning I was hiking in the Hollywood Hills and the air was so clear that I could see the ocean, which is rare here
    And now this:

I can't imagine what it must be like near the fires, for all the people living out there. It sounds like they are getting worse too.

Yes. Unless there are any new ones of course!

Can't smell any smoke this morning so will get outside while we can!

Whoa, from the picture you posted, the air quality looks just awful.

I agree -- the fires in Santa Barbara, paired with the ones in Orange County made the air quality in between REALLY really bad. Ash everywhere yesterday, thick smoke.
We're okay, but continue to keep all of CA in your thoughts: the heat, with the wind makes everything ignitable.

Also, remember the families who have lost homes, possessions, etc.
