  • SEX DROUGHT?

Has anyone experience their SO OR DH's libido promptly and consistently dropping as med school wears on? This has been a new problem recently for us (more so for me because he doesn't notice). I consider myself to still be attractive etc etc. But when he came home last at Christmas he was here for 4 weeks and we were only intimate twice! I also had to initiate each time. I was really disappointed that he wasn't more enthusiastic. Any feedback on this? I wanted to post it in the 'Marraige Matters' forum, but I'm not allowed to post on that one yet...

    Thanks again guys

    Re: SEX DROUGHT?

Since this can be a sensitive issue for some people...... you might not get a single person to respond to you in this open forum! Maybe I'm wrong and someone will be willing to share here. After you are up to 50+ posts feel free to post in the marriage forum.

Yes, I thought so too but thought I'd take a chance Oh well. Working toward that 50th post! I think that having children and being a nurse for so long has made turned me almost shameless LOL

The general responses from the masses will be somewhere along the lines of "yep we've all gone through dry spells"....they tend to be when the spouse is more stressed with their "work" whether it's new crop of classes, new rotations, long hours, intern year, heavy surg load, or big exam/test/boards. When things even out in their world, they tend to even out in ours too.

            Re: SEX DROUGHT?

There was a poll we did a while back as to how sex lives in training compare to those afterwards. Residency seemed to be the worst offender, but every single spouse attested that everything got back on track after training was over. Good luck and hang in there.

That is really uplifting to know that it should come back. Sex is one of my favorite stress relievers! I guess it's comparable to when I am alone with the kids all day long and dog tired though the last thing I want to do is have sex when I'm coverd in kid slime and have fuzzy hair and old clothes. I feel so non-sexy at the end of the day LOL

Yes.. this happened to me too. Its just stress.
It also happens to me for some reason because I think mentally I need to get used to my DH being back for the three weeks he is back for some reason. Does that happen to you?

Yeah it happens to me too, it's like the awkwardness of being with someone new all over again...
