  • New small camera

So my Canon SD800IS is dead. I LOVE this camera, I've had it for two years but I dropped it one to many times and something finally broke. DH thought it was the LCD backlight so we ordered a new one for $30 with shipping and he found online instructions to replace it but that obviously wasn't it because it still doesn't work.

So here is what doesn't make any sense, this model is at least 2 years old and was actually the first elf with the image stabilization but its MORE expensive then the current SD1100is. Why? Because it still gets better reviews then the more recent models.

So here is my question, yes there is a question in here. Does anyone have a reasonably priced small camera that they love? I'm currently bidding on a barely used SD800IS on ebay that is how much I love this camera and DH doesn't want to spend the money on a new one. Anyone?

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our Olympus FE-280. It's tiny, 8 megapixel, takes great pics, is easy to use. In short - it's wonderful. It's under $200

We just bought the Canon PowerShot SD890 IS and absolutely love it!!! We takes tons of pics and videos with Eli and they come out great. I can't remember the price but it was reasonable for what it does. Good luck and sorry about your other camera dying...

We had the Canon SD450 but the battery kept going dead not too long after charging it, so we spent $40 on a new battery only to still have the same problem. We replaced the camera with the Canon SD1100 IS in December before leaving for Disney World and have not had any problems with it. We spent about $180 on it and I like that it uses the same kind of battery as the SD450 so the $40 wasn't completely wasted.
