    Does anyone have any hotel recs? My mom, sister and I are going for a girls weekend. Everything so far is super deluxe - Grove Park Inn, or so-so like the Holiday Inn. Any place you've stayed or heard of? TIA

    We've gotten cabins not hotels, at decent prices and pretty close to downtown. But never at a hotel. Depending on the prices at the hotels, a cabin could be cheaper.

        Grove Park is not worth the money. There is also the Biltmore. Most of the other hotels in that area are Comfort Inn type places.

        I third the private rental idea. Check www.vrbo.com or Craig's List. I was looking at rentals last night for an area just north of Asheville and rates are really, really low right now.
