MrsC here, I too had to register again to be able to login. I tried everything else. Kris, I think the email on the first page of this thread is wrong, emails won't send.

      Please help!

Yeah, I've resorted to a doppleganger, too. The other one I can't get a password for, at all. And yep, now that I've re-reg'd, I'm back to noob status.

Those of you who got the first reset email but not the second one with a password, check your spam box. That's where I found mine.

Question: When I log on and click "new posts" is shows me everything that is new since my last visit. If I get into one of the threads and take time composing a response (for instance a long response . . not I've gone to make a sandwich in the middle of composing a response), it seems that I time out or something and have to log in again to post said response. In the meanwhile, those "new posts" that were previously listed are marked "read" and I cannot determine what I've seen already -- they aren't even in bold anymore. Am I doing something wrong?

Has anyone found a "mark all as read" for the PM box? It's showing all my PMs as new, which they definitely aren't.

The new posts issue is one that I'm looking into.

For the PM box, you should be able to check all in your inbox and then scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see the option to mark all as read/mark as unread/delete, etc.

                      Let me know.

I will look into the time-out and new post issues and will update here when I get it figured out!

Kris, the "new posts" thing I mentioned...now that I've played with it a bit more, I think it's actually working fine, it's just not exactly what I'm used to, is all.

I'm starting to get the impression that as long as there are new posts, and as long as I click the "new posts" link rather than just refreshing the search results page, it *is* updating pretty consistently; the "last update x minutes ago" is what I see when there just haven't been any new posts. And it does seem to be consistent across browsers/systems, now, too...at least, I haven't seen any evidence to the contrary since I first posted that I was having issues.

However, if you don't read all the new posts during that session and wish to return to them later, those unread posts will not appear as "new posts" the next time you log on. I'm missing stuff because sometimes I'm not on long enough to read everything new. . .

Oh, right. Yes, that's potentially an issue, but that was true of the old site, too, so I'm not sure it's changeable...

The old site remembered (bolded) your unread posts indefinitely, so combined with the "active posts" feature I found it to be the handiest interface for reading of any message board I use. I guess this way it helps keep me from getting carried away -- I can only catch up on as much as I can read before a baby calls me away, LOL!
