Me! I've tried to change my settings, but I couldn't figure it out. I just gave up on smiliies and chalked it up to my lack of computer savyness (is that even a word?).

                Try this:

Go to Quick Links in the top bar menu. Select "Edit your Details". When you get the next page, go to the sidebar menu and select "Edit Options" . On this page, scroll down to the section called "Miscellaneous Details". Select the Enhanced Editor for posting in the first drop down menu.

When you post, you should get a full panel of smilies on the side just like the old board.

At least, that's how I have mine set up.

                Hope it helps.

This is exactly what I tried before, and I just tried the same thing again. Still, I don't have smilies. Is it just me?

Okay . . . I figured it out. Everytime I selected the enhanced editor and then saved changes, it would say something like you didn't select a URL for the pancic button. That confused me because I didn't tinker with the panic button at all. In fact, it is in the "off" mode.

I just went back and cooperated with it and entered a URL. Voila . . . I have smilies.

I followed Angie's instructions (along with JaneDoe's modifications for the panic button problem), and I have smilies too! Yay!!

Me too! The panic button URL was tripping me up as well.

and what is the quick reply thing? I can't type in that box, and if I click the "post quick reply" button it tells me I have to click quick reply above... above.... my head? I have no idea.
You have to activate it from another post. It's the button with the feather in the bottom right-hand corner of every post. Click that, and then you can use quick reply.
