  • Slightly Bummed

Sad day: I was going to meet Lamorna (Kirsty and Jack) today, but sprained my ankle yesterday while showing DH's friends from Brazil around the LA area. This is the second time I've had to postpone, and I feel crappy about it.
Right now, I'm elevated and the crutches are on their way, but... *sigh*

Additionally, I'm job hunting right now, and it's not looking too great - I'm overqualified to work at places like Starbucks. I'm a full-time student in grad school, so no one wants to hire me full-time for work until I'm done (although, I had a guy try to talk me out of finishing school due to my existing experience and his need for personnel).

Basically, I just feel really unproductive and guilty right now.

Oh, Wildfin...that's SUCH a bummer! I'm so sorry about your ankle and missing your chance to meet Lamorna!

I was supposed to meet Heidi/Vanquisher last week when she and her fam were driving through STL, but there were some car issues so plans ended up having to be changed. VERY FORTUNATELY the car got fixed, but we ended up not being able to meet in person. Kind of a bummer! It's the second or third time that I've almost gotten to meet an iSMNer and freaky stuff has happened, and it didn't work out...

Wasn't I the one who postponed before? It doesn't matter anyway!
Rest up, we'll see you soon. You will have to tell me more about the job hunt, sorry it is tough.

Boo - all that stuff stinks! Make sure you take time rehabbing that ankle - if you rush you will risk reinjuring it!

Were you serious referring to starbucks? That is always my backup plan if we have to move and I can't find a job - I figured you couldn't be overqualified for it, and it seems like it would at least be a "fun" job (relatively speaking) and a good way to get good insurance!

I hope tomorrow brings a better day!

I'm sorry about the job hunt. Hang in there and try to keep your head held high. We're all here for you!!

(Wait, I just thought that it must be really hard to hold your head high while elevating your poor ankle!!)

Poor choice of words, but you know what I mean.
          Sending you good thoughts!!
