OK - that is the kind of thing that definitely gets people killed. Such a good thing that you confiscated it. If police see something that LOOKS like a weapon they have to treat it like it IS a weapon for their own safety. Realistic toy guns are something that my father (an avid gun collector) never, ever allowed in our home growing up.
Toy guns that look realistic aren't illegal in Texas - BUT the cities around where I'm from in North Texas are starting to make them illegal. Carrolton has already made them illegal and Dallas is moving to do likewise. It's not a second ammendment issue because they aren't freakin' weapons. But, they cause sooooo many problems.
