  • Headed to DC and Baltimore

    Hi!

DH and I will be in DC/Baltimore next week. Don't have many plans set. We are winging it. Just know we are staying in Middleburg, VA the first part of the week, then going to Baltimore and back to Middleburg for the Summer Cocktail wedding. Would love to meet up with iMSNers IRL. or if you have any off the beaten path suggestions, we would appreciate them. Been to the DC area several times and done the museum/monument thing oh and one year did the VA wineries trail.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

You're already kind of off the beaten path in Middleburg. If you want to go driving around Virginia, you could take Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park. Really pretty. I think Staunton is a really cute town - that's at the south end of Skyline Drive.

There's also Monticello if you haven't done that before. And in the same general area you can see Ash Lawn-Highland (Monroe) and Montpelier (Madison). And Woodrow Wilson was born in Staunton. I did all of those as a presidential field trip one year.

I also like Harper's Ferry, WV a lot. That wouldn't be too far of a drive.

Or you could head for the Delaware shore.
