could you be a Stay @ Home Dad?

    I am one.

But it depends on what you mean: do you mean, and not work? Because I think I would go nuts. (More than I am already.) I currently work about 20 hrs/wk (mainly evenings and weekends) doing contract software development and light system administration.

See, I'm so cheap that I can't justify paying for premises when I have this nice big house, that I'm already heating all winter long, running high-speed internet to, etc. Getting out to client sites is a nice break, though.

Sam, my hat goes off to you and the others that are SAHDs!!
Bama do you guys have kids,I only ask because you specifically said S@ home dads not spouses?
If so what is your set up, since you admitted you weren't one to be able to embrace/handle it? Does your wife wish you were or would be willing to be?

I have a child, and my wife wishes I could work from home but that's not something I'd want to do.

Even though I dint believe in gender roles... The typical stay at home cooking and cleaning keeping children all day long, wouldn't be something I'd be interested in doing.
