O.K., who here gets a little nutty over March Madness? I'll confess, it is one of the few sporting events that I watch in any given year. I absolutely love it. Who is everyone rooting for?

In case I haven't droned on and on about my team and you were confused about my allegience.... (ahem)

    GO KENTUCKY!!!

    Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!
Which means we are rooting for Kansas University. By the time my husband is done with fellowship he will have spent half of his life at KU, if you count undergrad--isn't that sad!

And yes, we DO get nutty during March Madness. Last year the KU game fell on the same night as our daughter's baptism so we had friends paging us the score. Then we raced home to see KU lose to a very close game! We are keeping our fingers crossed for this year!

        Sue,

My husband did his undergrad at KU--majored in biology. When was your husband there?

He would have been there from Fall of '89 to Spring '94, then started Med School in Fall '94. Actually, I have no clue what he majored in--I'll have to ask him when he gets home tonight. When was your husband there? That would be cool if they knew each other!

Our house definitely is tuned into March Madness. My husband and I have had our own pool over the years. I am two for three, but never received my prize (a backrub). It is fun just to see who wins.

            Go MSU Spartans!

March Madness has hit here also...we are just sport nuts. I pull for Oklahoma State, but they tend to stink it up.
So, I cheer for all Big 12 schools Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas...
I enjoy watching some of the smaller schools too, Gonzaga, Creighton...

My pick to win it all is....Kentucky. Hate to say it, but they have been the best team for the last couple months.

                Matt,

What great taste you have 8) . I tend to cheer on anyone in the SEC and Ohio State, but I loathe Duke. It is a four letter word, after all.

                GO KENTUCKY!!!!

I am also a very big UK fan! I live in Lexington, and attend University of Kentucky, and my husband goes to medical school at UK. So I guess you can imagine that we bleed BLUE!

                    the brackets

Yeah!!! Kentucky got a number one seed in the midwest...and the regionals are here in Minneapolis. What is the likelihood that I could get tickets????

Other medspouse favorites...Kansas got a no. 2 spot in the West and Michigan State has the seventh seed in the South.

Finally, something in the news to be happy about.

I just have to brag and say that my alma mater, Butler University, is in the Sweet Sixteen! Sadly, I did not have enough faith in them to pick them to make it this far in our family pool.

But still, this is HUGE and I am so excited that this team from a small private school is actually working it at the big dance!

                      GO DAWGS!

                        Sally,
I was also really excited to hear that Butler won! Considering they beat Louisville and Pitino, it made my day. I am a UK fan NOT a U of L fan!
                        Go Butler and UK!

In the "it could only happen to my family" category, I'm flying to DC to go to my brother's housewarming party, while his Alma Mater is no more than a mile ffrom my house at the Alamodome (Maryland). I'm not a huge basketball fan, but it's so funny to talk to my brother. My husband can't go to the party because he's on the Ward this month, so he's thinking of tormenting my brother by getting tickets to the game!

                            Go KU!!

How fun to see all of the KU and Big 12 fans! My fiance and I live in a house divided: Missouri vs. Kansas- but now that Kansas has continued on he is loyally cheering on KU. We love to watch the games- it's the only time I get "fun time" with him right now!!!

Ooh...that could get tough! MU v KU! There are many families around us that are divided that way, also several K-State/KU families.
Luckily, our family is Pac 10/Big 12 divided! They aren't huge match ups like the "Border War"!!

Hopefully KU will show up shooting the ball well and be able to send the "dukies" packing!!
