  • Prayers/Good Thoughts Needed

My endocrinologist was diagnosed with multiple myloma, and is in the hospital. Apparently, they knew something was coming, but didn't know it would hit so fast. I don't think he's going to be practicing anymore, and DH told me that the % rate of survival is not very good.

He's a wonderful man, and a wonderful doctor. This just breaks my heart...

Crap, that sucks. Prayers definitely coming his way.

I'm hearing too much about cancer lately and I am having a hard time with it. A good friend's son is dying of rhabdomyosarcoma, my colleague and good friend who rents my office from me one day a week is dying of pancreatic cancer, and DH's long-time partner just found out he has melanoma metastases to his lymph nodes.

I hope your doctor is able to pull through. Please keep us posted on his progress.

Wildfin - I am so sorry to hear this. My grandma died of MM. She lived for 2+ years after her diagnosis, but unfortunately, they were long, painful years. MM has an incredibly low survival rate and because it is cancer of the bones, it is painful and there isn't much that mediates that particular kind of pain.

                  *hugs*
