  • I heart coffee!

I had a cup of joe this morning. That might not mean much to anyone else - but I've been off coffee for five weeks because of a stomach ulcer. I hope I don't pay for this later today. I sure feel great now. I love my coffee.

I'm surprised that this is what I'd want back first. I was told to avoid coffee/tea, chocolate, alcohol, spicy foods, and fatty foods. I'm trying to add in one at a time slowly and see if they bother my stomach. Maybe I just went for the coffee first because it was early and I was tired.

What would you have the most trouble giving up?

Good luck! I hope you can start drinking it again. Mine would be salsa. I don't have it that often, but it's so good.

Right now mine would be chocolate - when I'm no longer pregnant it would be wine.

I think I'll go make myself a coffee though

I would have trouble giving up spicy foods, coffee, and wine. Faty foods and chocalate would be easier.

If I gave up caffeine I'm fairly certain I would slip into a coma.

If I quit cold turkey, I'd have withdrawals. Happens everytime I try not to drink it so much.

Giving up caffine is the worst part of breast feeding for me. Now that S is older, I have started back with half caf. And I will probably stay with that because I can drink a greater volume of my fav beverage and not get the jitters.

I hope it agrees with you!

I can't give up tea. LOVE iced tea and drink it all day long. I have an iced tea maker here and I drink 3 quarts a day (but I only use 4 tea bags to brew it so I don't think the caffiene is that bad). We have a drive through convenience store near where I live and if we go through any other drive through my daughter asks 'mommy, you getting tea?'.

                  What is this 'give up'?

I can go forever without desserts of any kind but I will cut your hand off if you touch my coffee pot, my wine fridge or my popcorn popper.

I would have a hard time giving up chocolate, wine and spicy food, in that order. Mmmm chocolate...

I'm on month 13 w/Mattie (month 32 of cumulative time ) and have never given up caffiene while breastfeeding. I did cut it out for my first trimester of pregnancy with her (and only her, and only did it b/c I'd had two losses and some study showed that coffee consumption might correlate) ... but that is it.

Coffee = sweet nectar of the gods.

I am a coffee-lover. I planned to cut down on my coffee intake during the pregnancy, but surprisingly, one day, I just didn't want it. But I still go to the coffee shop nearly daily to get myself a hazelnut steamer.

I've always noticed if I drink coffee on an empty stomach it makes me feel nasty, but otherwise, I'm good. I'm one of the few that doesn't get much of a caf kick from it, though--I honestly like how it tastes!

Give up coffee or chocolate? :shudder: Now that's just CRAZY talk.

I could give up meat, fried foods, chips, booze, and most desserts and it wouldn't be that big of a deal reakkt.

I can *barely* get through a day without chocolate. Coffee too? That's just an ugly thought.

                            You all amaze me.

FYI--Chocoperfection chocolate bars are AMAZING--the whole bar has 193 calories, and I think only 4 g of fat. And it's goooood chocolate.
