  • If it wasn't screwed on...

Guess who forgot his hospital ID badge this morning?
The funny thing is, I usually ask him everyday before he leaves if he has everything, and list it out loud, but didn't this morning.

It really must help him that I do that. And now, to take him said badge and key access cards.

Ugh, I'm really sorry. DH went in to the lab this morning to study for a while (anatomy exam next week) and he told me not to lock him out because he wasn't going to take his keys (hard to find a secure place to put them). Guess who came home a little early and realized that he couldn't get into our complex without his keys!? DOH!

There is more than one reason these spouses rely on us! (Otherwise more and more keys would end up in the freezer!)

I have to load the kids up on more than one occasion to give DH his ID.

        I bought DH a shirt that says: "I don't have ADD, it's just that....oh look! A squirrel!"

Last week as DH was walking out the door I asked him if he needed his stethoscope -- it was sitting on the counter. 30 minutes later he called to ask me when I was leaving home because he needed me to bring his pager.

What would they do without us sometimes?

Oh, don't get me started. . . we rented a car for 2 weeks. (We were shopping for a replacement for DrK's car which we sold on our way out of Cleveland.)

First night driving the car, DrK is supposed to pick up SIL at the airport. About 10 minutes before her plane is supposed to land, he calls me from the hospital to tell me that the car won't start and he is waiting for triple-A. I tell him to call the car rental place. Didn't even occur to him. He calls, they come, they start the car and tell him to go to the airport and replace the car there if he has more trouble.

About 4 nights later, the first night that DrK is supposed to be home for dinner with me and SIL. I'm tied up on the phone, he calls to tell me that he's lost his key, is locked out of the car, and AAA is on the way. I tell him to call the car rental place. Didn't even occur to him. He calls, they have a key but they are about to close. I ask SIL to take my car, pick up the key, and bring it to DrK. DrK neglects to tell her that he is not working at the usual location. SIL gets hopelessly lost and calls me to tell me that I need to change the address saved in my GPS as "DrK's work."

A couple days later, original set of keys are turned into the lost and found at the hospital.

Finally, we are returning the car. I meet DrK at the car rental place. He transfers all his stuff from the rental to my car, turns in both sets of keys. I drop him off at CarMax where he will be purchasing his replacement car and driving it home. I have an appointment so I leave him to handle it.

A couple hours later, I'm home. He calls. He's on his way. I tell him that I've left the garage door open because I figure that he put the clicker in my car when he transferred all the stuff from the rental car. Nope. He left the clicker in the rental car.

You all know the chorus by now. Everyone sing along. "I tell him to call the car rental place. Didn't even occurred to him. . . ."

My DH always forgets his keys and ID badge too. Usually it's when we walk all the way to the parking garage that he remembers he forgot his ID badge to swipe us out of the garage. So we have to walk all the way back home to get it.

This morning DH was getting dressed and he put his scrub shirt on backwards! What would he do with out me?

Oh Mrs. K - I was in stitches reading that one!

Let's just say that DH has 15 white dress shirts and 15 pairs of black dress pants...just so that I don't have to help him "make an outfit" in the morning. Pick a tie and go!
