  • Pandora Radio

I just need to take a minute to rave about Pandora Radio. I LOVE IT! I've been using it at the gym (iPod Touch & my gym has Wi-Fi). It's awesome to type in a song or artist & have it make a playlist for me. At home I just pick one of my radio stations (or create a new one) and put the iPod in the dock. I get all of this music, from artists I like (whether artists I already knew or new ones of the same ilk), and am exposed to lots of songs I'd never heard before.

Did I mention it's FREE? Love. It.

Jenn, what's your favorite station on Pandora right now?
I seem to be fluctuating between Prince, and Queen.

I use Pandora all the time, too. My only problem is I get sucked in to giving ratings (thumbs up! or boo, hiss!) to each selection to "further refine my station". I read the musical definitions for each song style. I end up clicking over to iTunes to order new songs and wander in to Apple's Genius selections....and then end up creating new stations. *sigh* Rinse, repeat.

      Obviously, I'm Pandora ADD.

If I'm cooking or the iPod is on a dock, I'm fine. Computer based is a deadly time kill for me!

My main Pandora station is Black Eyed Peas seeded with a Sublime song. Lots of peppy reggae-influenced stuff shows up, including Bob Marley and Barenaked Ladies. I like it, especially for housecleaning. My secondary one (especially for when guests are over and I can't risk explicit lyrics popping up, LOL) is Joy to the World by Three Dog Night.

Angie, my DH accuses me of thumbs-upping every song, as I break off conversations with him to rush over to the iPod (plugged in to the kitchen stereo speakers) and unlock it so I can click, LOL.

I recall quite sometime ago that we had a Pandora thread.
I use it every now and then.

I think I started the old thread, too. Back then I enjoyed it on my old computer, which was hooked up to speakers. Since then we've given that computer to the boys, and I've been on a laptop with crappy speakers. To me, the BIG thrill of pandora these days is in conjuction with the iPod touch so I can pick up the wireless signal at the gym. It give a whole new level of adoration.

DH had been using Pandora for years and loves it! I'm not really that into it. They also use it in the operating rooms here.

the station i find i listen to the most is "Bad Things" by Jace Everett (the True Blood theme song). I've even bought an album from that station!

                Love Pandora!

I'm listening to George Winston (Holiday) right now, two months early...

Well, thanks for getting me addicted to it now. As if I didn't already have a ton of ways to waste time. I love it.

I love Pandora, too. I got the app for my iPhone (for all you iPhone users on the board) which works great and is completely free.

I've spent, uh, waaay too much time on the Pandora site today, refining my stations. Since I'd resumed playing with it on my iTouch and while pedaling a bike, I didn't realize that you could fine-tune your stations. I've now got lots of catagories, and am SO excited to hit the gym today.

AND ... you can create a station based on the music from Glee!
