  • War on Wednesday

Well, as most of you know by now, we have given Iraq a timed ultimatum.
Everyone, no matter how you feel about this situation, please keep those that are overseas and in harms way in your thoughts and prayers.
My best friend from high school and his brother are both on destroyers somewhere in the Persian Gulf.
Now is a time that we stop all the nit-picking and hope/pray that everyone returns safe.

Right on. But this time, I think we're all in harm's way. So I hope we all stay safe.
Personally, I'm staying away from big crowds for a few weeks.

I whole heartedly agree (about the troops and American personnel of all sorts who are overseas)

I expect that it's going to come back to haunt us but I hope not.

I agree completely!!!!!! I hope the troops come home soon.

I woke up this morning wondering where the duct tape was!! I feel like I am in the calm before a devastating storm. I hope for the best and also hope that it doesn't have severe repercussions.

I agree with you all -- many of these soldiers are SO YOUNG. I see them out at Sheppard (first stop after basic training for most airmen) and in our community and they are babies, babies that are putting their lives on the line for all of us. Pray that they come home safe and have no long term ill-effects from whatever Saddam throws at them.

It is a little surreal - this "scheduling" of a war. I felt almost like I needed to pencil it in on my calendar for a while. We are entering the Twilight Zone....

It does seem so weird. Like, hmmm...what are my plans for tomorrow? Oh that's right, war.
                Ugh.
As with all of you, I am hoping for a speedy and safe return for all of the troops overseas. And safety for all of us at home, too.

Let us all continue to pray for our troops, families, and our country.

It is hard to believe that I was in the Bahamas having fun and when we arrived back to our country on Wednesday, we were at war. That will be a day that I will never forget.

Our neighbors were on a family vacation to Hawaii while this all came about. They just got back yesterday, they said that the security was much more visable and tougher on the return flights.

My older and only brother is over there right now and we are constantly watching the news and praying for him. His wife is due in 2 weeks with their first baby and he will miss it. I hope we never take our freedom for granted and are thankful for those that make the sacrifices for us to enjoy it.

Just taking a break from packing up our house - Jessica, I am so thankful for people like your brother willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us. I hope all goes well with his wife back at home - she must be an incredibly strong woman.

                          Jessica,

I will put an extra prayer in for your family. I can only imagine what your family is going through.

My family just received news that my older brother is being deployed soon, we don't know when. His wife and children are not taking it well. And of course, my mother is not either(as well as other family members). When the war comes close to home it really makes you look at it all in a new light. Our family has already gone through this before with the same brother in Desert Storm.
Let's all remember to pray together as a medical family and we WILL get through this together.
(Thank God for this web site!)
