When do I lose "young professional" status?

    When do I lose "young professional" status?

    So I was looking online to join a young professional volleyball or squash league (something I did in NYC before we had little E and moved to Boston). I saw a site that had some different teams and a picture of some of the members. Everyone looks like they are 21 and out drinking....so not me right now! Am I no longer a young professional. I am 30 with a child...AHHHHH! Just starting to feel like I am in this awkward middle ground now.

    I'd consider anyone under 40 in the "young professional" category.

      As a 42 year old NOT young professional, I know that in DC when attending "singles" events labelled 'young professional' it was usually the 25-35 yo crowd. The younger crowd were still hanging with their college friends and the over 35 crowd is beaten into submission by life.

        Yeah....I'd say 35. Here we have all those "over 35" sports leagues. I guess that's when you get old. You know, all of a sudden.

            I always think of young professional as people who work and don't have kids. I'm sorry - I know that's mean. I've definitely been to things where young professional clearly means single, and I always thought that was mean (since I've been married as long as I've been a professional).

            I'm sure there are rec leagues in your area that aren't specific to young professionals, if that helps.
