I've been under self-imposed house arrest for a week now and going completely crazy. There's an opportunity to go out to dinner with another couple tonight and I wondering if we should go or not. I feel much better but not completely done with the cold (still occasional sniffle and cough here and there). It's definitely just a cold though and not anything more serious. But the other wife is also preggo, so I don't want to pass anything on in case I still have the ability to do that. Plus I felt better last Saturday, we went out and then I totally crashed later that night.

So should I go out tonight, wait until tomorrow or wait until Monday?

I didn't vote for any - here is my 2 cents (for what it's worth)

Does the other mommy-to-be know that you are sick? If you feel up to going (only you can judge that), I would call her and explain the situation, tell her that you feel up to going, but that you didn't want to make her uncomfortable, blah, blah...

This gives her the chance to state her thoughts/feelings, and it becomes her decision...

That being said - if you aren't feeling up to it, just call and cancel (I think most people are pretty open to day-of cancellations especially when pregnancy and illness are involved - the "I hoped I would have felt better")

Good luck and feel better soon!

Well, I said go ahead and go out... I think I'm jaded by living with kids and a dawkter who brings home all sorts of crap... I just don't get worked up over viruses, and I don't care if people around me are sick either. But it would be good to call her first, just in case!

          I agree with the above.

Having said that, I came down with a cold almost 3 weeks ago, started feeling better after 10 days, then got tonsillitis, started feeling better two days ago, and today feeling crappy again.
I don't know what's going around here but it's never-ending and it's not the flu.

It's not likely that you're contagious anymore so I say go. You have a finite number of kid free meals left. Take advantage of them.

I spoke to the girl and she'd prefer if we rescheduled for next week. So I told DH that I'm still up for going out tonight but just us and then next week we can get together with the other couple.

Oh, looks like you aren't going. Too bad!
I agree with Jenn, although I'm not to be trusted on opinions about germs. I came back from M's appointment yesterday and changed both of us out of our clothes.
