Russ and I got married on Friday the 21st in Deerfield Beach Florida (east coast). It was the only day that week that it didn't rain! The girls started pictures at 2:30pm and then at 4:30pm Russ and I had our "first look." This was set up so the photographer could catch our expressions and all...it was awesome. He looked so good. The guys wore tuxes with tails from Men's Warehouse and the girls wore black Scott Mc Clintock gowns (think prom). My dress was a Maggie Sottero (style Scarlet). Here's a picture of the dress....though mine was all white and I had the straps cut off.
We were married infront of this waterfall...
My mom officiated the ceremony. My sister was my MOH and I had 4 other bridesmaids. Russ had a best man (our best friend) and 4 groomsmen.
Everyone walked down to Charlotte Church anmd Josh Groban singing "The Prayer." My dad walked me down to "Beauty and the Beast" the instrumental version. The catering manager carried my train and my cathedral length veil lined with pearls and Swarovski crystals. When I got to the main part of the aisle she flipped my train out and stepped on my veil pulling it clear off my head! 8O I just kept walking as if nothing happend!
We got to the end of the aisle, Russ took my hand...my mom married us. The we were waiting for the music to start for us to walk back down and this person came over and handed us two doves! We released the doves and they flew around together and then we released a box of them. It was really cool...then we walked out to Sara Evans "Let's Dance."
Our first dance song was "Speak Softly Love" and it was supposed to be the Bobby Vinton version but it was Al Martino's version. I danced to the theme from Tootsie with my dad ("It Might Be You") and he danced to "A Song for my Son" by Mikki Viereck with his mom.
We served Snapper Francaise and Herb Encrusted Chicken with Fruit Salsa and Twice Baked Potatoes and a vegetable medley. The cake was a white cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing...it was decorated with real roses to look like this...
I carried a hand tied bouquet of 36 red roses and the girls each had 18. Russ had a bout. with 2 roses the guys all got 1. The moms and grandmas had wrist corsages with 3 roses each.
It was beautiful! We had such a great time! It was awesome! I wish it would have lasted longer.
The next night (Sat) we stayed in Orlando for some alone time and to break up the 4 hour drive to Gainesville. The hotel was awesome and we really had a great time just being away from everyone. The next morning as we were checking out, OJ Simpson walked in the lobby. It was neat! I'd never seen a famous person up close like that before. We didn't talk to him or anything.
But now it's back to school. On Tuesday I did my first surgery. A canine neuter. And I received compliments on my intradermal suture pattern!

Your wedding sounds beautiful! The day does go by so fast, doesn't it? At mine, I was just starting to relax and have a good time and that's when all the guests started leaving.
Love the black gowns and your dress. The waterfall looks so romantic! Congrats! I wish you all the best.

Jenn
and also congrats on the canine neuter! Young Antonio was recently the 'victim' of a feline neuter in our house!
