  • baby shower ideas

So I am having a baby shower for my sister in just 3 short weeks. So far 100, thats right 100 people are invited. Any ideas on cheep, but cute favors? We are still trying to plan on what food to serve and all that fun stuff. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! oh yeah, I am trying to do as much as I can now since I live 7 hours from her, so if I could at least make the favors or order them and other little things I am trying to get it done in the next few days.

WOW, 100 people. I can't think of anything for 100 people but just wanted to say you are a very brave woman. I had a wedding shower for my daughter but there were only aroud 25 people. It was in the Spring, and we used miniature clay pots, spray painted them white, I bought some silk flowers at Michael's and cut them into tiny flowers and used a glue gun and put the flowers and a tiny ribbon on the pots. In each pot we put small spring flowers that the guests coud transfer to their gardens. We used the pots in groups for the centerpiece of the table. They were really pretty, I'll look for pictures an try to post one. I got the idea from the Martha Stewart website.

100 people! Wow. Are you planning party games? Opening gifts? As for favors, I'd look at oriental trading. They have cute little rubber duckies and things like that and are rather affordable.

Also, for the baby shower, be sure to remember the grandmas. It's a big deal for them too. At my shower my mom and MIL were given sashes to wear that said "Grandma" -- the hostesses made them from ribbon and glitter pens. It made them feel special and included.

All I can say is 100 people? Are you charging at the door?
We had have a holiday party with approximately 50 people and it's a production to make it all happen.

        Good luck!

Wow being that there are so many guests I would go with as simple of favors and food as possible!

Two of the easier simplier things I've seen are putting candies in cute little jars or boxes. I also liked getting small teas.

If you are planning on opening presents in front of everyone I suggest playing baby bingo or doing something different to keep guests involved. Watching the mama-to-be open gifts from 100 people will take a LONG time. At my sisters shower they had every guest grab a gift, and they all opened them at once. Then each guest held up the gift and explained what they mama-to-be-got. It made things go a little quicker and it was an unusual twist. (Ofcourse you have to make sure that you keep the gift tags/cards with the gift for the mama-to-be so that she can remember who gave what).

I love this idea! We did this for my other sister after her wedding. She was leaving for her honeymoon that night, and was told that one of her presents needed to go in the fridge. We were like... o.k. so her bridal party got together at her house and helped her open all of her gifts. It was soooo much fun for us even if the gifts were not for us.

For that many people, food might be your best favor option. People seem to not really get into non-food favors and may leave them, but they'll always take the sweets

Every thought of a candy bar? I'm doing one for my wedding, and I think it would work well on a smaller scale for a baby shower. You could use pastel colored candies and you can get nice glassware cheap at Hobby Lobby or TJMaxx/Marshalls/Ross

I anxious to hear how it went. I am impressed with the fact that it is a shower for 100!

The shower went really well. We took 3 hours to set up, 2 days to prep for food/games/prizes/decorations. 2 hours to clean up.. but one happy mother to be. I am surprised she didn't go into labor over the weekend from all the chaos.
She took away 5 FULL car loads of presents. I think she is set to have her baby!
